Hey Pen Paddlers – We’re optimistically looking forward to a less-restricted Fall in Ontario, and are pleased to announce a late-season club trip to Charleston Lake Provincial Park. Campsite booking is now available through the park and there are still campsites available as of today.
Charleston Lake is a medium-sized lake with lots of nooks and crannies for exploring, and great beaches for swimming. We’ll camp at Charleston Lake Provincial Park, although if anyone wants to motel/hotel in nearby Gananoque, that works too. We’ll paddle in Charleston Lake from the park, and may travel short distances to paddle the St Lawrence River 1000 Islands (in a new area for those that joined this trip last time) or other waterways.
Charleston Lake Provincial Park is half an hour north of Gananoque. Travel time is approximately 4 hours from Niagara.
This paddle is open to club members in good standing only, and has a limit of 16 attendees maximum. All club functions are subject to Provincial, Federal and local COVID regulations.
